The flight back from Unalakleet was a real treat, thanks to the pilot. I got to sit in the copilot's seat and see out the front window. After we crossed Norton Sound, he flew in low, about a hundred feet or so above the landscape, and took us by a bunch of the small villages and cabins out in the boonies. I saw 4 moose, and I'm sure there were more, but the tundra colors were all turning brown and made it hard to spot anything else. It reminded me of a flight program I have, but in real life. He flew up valleys and over hills, and made banked turns the whole way back to Brevig.
The girls and Jan were happy I was back, and we went to the store and bought some groceries, then went home and cooked dinner. Sleeping in our own bed was so nice, after 3 nights spent in the classroom. I gave Jan some shirts and gym shorts with the school district logo on them, I was able to buy them by signing them out of my upcoming paycheck.
Today was a little bit snowy, now it's just overcast.
Thanks for the presents Jeff and Kelly, the flowers look great in our vase! And the books are cool too, plus Jan was real excited to have her favorite tea!
