We're going to get hit by a big electric bill this month, our meter was covered by snow and they hadn't read it in like two months. We've been using the new energy efficient bulbs, I hope we can really notice the difference. I ordered them online and like 4 out of 13 were broken. I heard there's a touch of mercury in those bulbs (I think any flourescents have it, not sure though) so I was really careful throwing away the pieces. I can't believe how fast this year is going already, the school year is almost wound up, and summer will follow quickly on its heels. Our honda 4-wheeler has an electrical problem, I think it's the neutral indicating wire for the transmission, hopefully it's nothing worse than a broken wire.
Jared's doing really good, I have some pictures of him smiling, and observing with an intent look on his almost invisible eyebrows. I misplaced my digital camera for a while, then found it on the shelf. We had gotten his picture taken in the hospital as one of those services you can pay for, but I think our home pictures are just as good or better. At the hospital he was crying and uncomfortable. But we'll send some of those anyway when we get them.

I'm reading The Indian Clerk by David Leavitt, it's good so far, I'm already halfway through it. The author really nails some inner thoughts that I've had and never seen expressed in print. One thought the guy had that he berated himself for as soon as he thought it.... was when Ramanujan was asking about how much danger his friends, who were bringing him tamarinds, might be in-in coming from India to England with a stopover in Austria during the start of the war with Germany. And the thought was "is he more worried about his friends or the tamarinds?"

    Good health to you all.
