Janice and her brother saw some of the first sand cranes flying in, a sure sign of spring. It's staying light out later and later these days, the snow is going to melt away quickly.
--- School's going to be out soon, and how quickly this year has passed! Astronomically- we've made a loop that is huge. I forgot that we're travelling at a surprising clip- 19 miles per second, around the sun. Doing the math is fun, if you get some facts and try to do some calculating. I wonder why our orbit is an ellipse, and how far apart the focii are. I've thought about the spin of Earth affecting our speed, if the Northern hemisphere is "up," and the earth is visuallized travelling (counter-clockwise, right?) around the sun, then we travel faster during the night as Earth's spin adds to our speed of orbit.
Very pretty design! Keep up the good work. Thanks.
