Janice went to Nome for the Iditarod, she's excited to be able to go. Lots of people go and watch the mushers come in. I wish I was there!
On myspace Irene Bedard added me as a friend, she's the woman who was in Smoke Signals. I noticed in part of her page that she was saying she wanted to go to villages and meet kids and play music for them. That would be really cool. She's half Inuit and was the voice for Pocohontas, and was in many movies. That would be so cool if she came here!
Also on myspace, Joy Harjo added me as a friend. I read her poetry in college and she was an inspiration to me in my poetry class. Thanks Joy Harjo!
Pamyua is also on myspace, they're quite popular with the local kids here, they went and played in Teller, and looks like they've been on quite a tour. Pamyua plays some good music, look them up.

About this area: Mala, star of Nanook of the North, was filmed right here where I live. The locals recognized our mountains from around here in the movie. My cousin has a picture of her dad with Harrison Ford in Nome. Steven Seagall was in Nome and my mom met him. Wyatt Earp moved to Nome during the gold rush- they should do a movie about that part of his life, I bet it would make a lot of money. One of our teachers told me the guy in Princess Bride who says "My Name is Inigo Montoya, You killed my father, prepare to die" was in Nome visiting his son who lives there- His name is Mandy Patinkin, he was so cool in that movie. He's a musician now, I didn't know that.
