We watched Napoleon Dynamite, it was good, in a dorky sort of way. We've also watched Monty Python, Amelie, and Dreamcatcher in the past week.
Polly stayed over last night with Shannon, which is good for Shan, we try to let her sleep on her own foam pad because her diaper might overflow on the new bed. She usually crawls on the bed though, and we've tried using the waterproof sheet from Oregon but either she'll kick it off, or roll off it. She's already wet the new bed like 5 times, which can be a little irksome when you wake up with a wet back and blankets. She must have a really big bladder, we're hoping it shrinks soon. :)
Janice might go to Nome tomorrow with her dad if the wind stops blowing so hard. Today one of the planes flew in really low, just a little ways over the powerlines, I guess trying to get a good approach to the airport. Jan's sister Hannah doesn't want them to fly in if it's still so gusty.
This time I'm going to copy my post before I 'post' it. I lost the last one three times, that's why it's so short.
Unfortunately, while trying to clean the video head on our VCR I broke off a little metal post. Now the tapes won't play right, we can hear sound, but the image is all messed up. I tried taking the TV apart, it came apart easy enough, but I would really need to get in there if I'm going to be able to fix it. During my attempt to fix it, I read a label for techhnicians warning about X-Ray radiation emitting from the cathode ray tube. That reminded me of Rontingen (sp.?) the guy who either discovered or utilized the radiation to expose photographic plates. I'm pretty sure the tube itself is lead coated, which is why TVs are bad for landfills. I had just read something about him somewhere. Anyway, it was a bit of a surprise, the thought of X-Rays and TV sets never really merged under the same conceptual basis in my brain. Hmm, Vacuums in leaded tubes, emitting X-Rays, with electrons being guided by magnetic forces on a phosphorous screen. Sounds almost archaic, in this postmodern world.
